Pastor Marty begins our advent sermon series Songs for Christmas and reflect on Hannah's Song in 1 Samuel 2. This morning marked the beginning of the Advent season as we celebrate the coming of Christ through the birth of Jesus. The word Advent means "arrival" or "coming". This season is an opportunity for us to not only rejoice in the first advent of Christ, but to look forward with hope towards his second advent when he will return in great power and glory. This year we are dedicating each week to exploring a different aspect of Christ’s advent through various songs found in Scripture. While these songs may not have the traditional holiday cheer we often anticipate, our "Songs for Christmas" focus will help us center our hearts and minds on the hope of what God has done, is doing, and will do through the Lord Jesus Christ.
